MB the Magic Bullet and its implications for health

It seems for the past few months the latest hot topic is about the substance called methylene blue(MB)… I’ve seen many MD doctors talk about it for many different ailments include SarsCOV2 and for those vaccinated(with damage), even for some people lately with asymmetrical faces… but what is this substance, is it safe and why the rave?

I decided to dig into the research a little bit, as I personally had very limited knowledge of the substance other than it was used in my microbiology labs.

You may have heard of MB used in the past to clean fish tanks.. It was actually one of the first synthetic chemicals used as a medication, but was a textile dye for blue jeans. However, they found it had all kinds of medicinal benefits…
In 1891, German physician and noble prize winner Paul Ehrlich first used methylene blue for the treatment of malaria.  His discovery found that MB quickly concentrates in the brain and selectively targets diseased tissues in the body.  He found two major properties of MB- it concentrates on nervous tissue, and secondly when injected to the malaria parasite it inhibited a particular enzyme and made it weaker.  All synthetic medications were derivatives of MB as a parent compound.  It’s also the parent compound of hydroxy-chloroquine, which along with ivermectin are both anti parasitic medications that were effective against SarsCOV2.

Some blood transfusions currently still use MB for its antiviral properties to stop HIV virus…  It’s the only compound that is also utilized as the only antidote for metabolic poisons.  Any poison that interferes with oxygen transport from blood or from the mitochondria (where oxygen is used for energy) they use MB.  Often times its used for carbon monoxide poisoning ( this is where the dropping side of the face or eye symptoms are coming into play, typically the asymmetrical face presentation is CO poisoning OR cranial distortions ;)).  It’s important to mention here as well that some infections also induce the expression of heme oxygenase which results in increased carbon monoxide formation inside of the body. You can read here if you like. Which basically means some infection can create CO poisoning inside of you…

Other than using MB acutely, using low dose of MB long term has not been used, and this is where the research has been coming in, to not just use it acutely, but for energy metabolism and for oxygen utilization..Dr Francisco Gonzalez-Lima an expert on Neurodegenerative Diseases has been researching MB and is a prominent researcher at the university of Texas. He’s been discovering through research that low doses also directly affects the brain energy metabolism, resulting in cognitive performance, cognitive advance, prevention of cognitive decline and improving blood flow, enhancing oxygen consumption, mitochondria and ATP production. MB has been shown in vitro studies to help all of these in humans and animals. This is especially exciting for those who have had brain traumas, stroke, or those with sleep disorder breathing patterns, but additionally it just improves oxygen and mitochondrial function so it can be utilized for general health as well.

If you’ve read some of my book (I hope you all have), you may have gotten to a section called the mighty mitochondria, where I talk about the HUGE importance of our mitochondria or energy centers in our cells being healthy. For nutrition, we ALWAYS start with mitochondrial health or energy first because if you don’t have fuel, then not only will you be tired, but also nothing will work. So many things affect our mitochondria like: infections, radiation, chemicals, heavy metals, stress, poor food choices and many many medications(some permanently damage some)…Our nerve tissue has the most mitochondria(inside the mitochondria are called electron transport chains) centers, and one of the most unique features of MB is its role in the electron transport chain and energy.

Electrons are reduced by the foods that we eat, but the food ONLY contributes to energy by producing electron donors and then donating them creating oxygen/oxidization.  When the electron transport chain is coupled with adenosine it makes ATP or energy.  MB inserts itself in this process because its an electron cycler, an antioxidant compound.  It obtains electrons from surrounding compounds, and maintains oxygen consumption and energy production which causes oxygen to be reduced into water. Every-time that we consume oxygen, not all of the oxygen is reduced to water.  The more demand we have for oxygen, the more not fully reduced oxygen called superoxide is formed. Secondly, it produces energy… It’s like a little battery. A low concentration of it reaches an equilibrium between oxidation and reduction that preserves cycling of electrons. Other compounds don’t do this.

If you have a blood flow that is impaired or you can’t get oxygenated hemoglobin to the tissues, MB can also be helpful because it optimizes the efficiency of the mitochondria respiration.  So even with less oxygen available, or hemoglobin not being delivered, they’ve shown in animal studies that a loss of blood supply( you could see the beginning of memory problems and degeneration in the brain), when MB was used it prevented memory disturbances and degenerative changes.

Individuals who have chronic defects in hemoglobin( can’t get oxygenated hemoglobin to the tissues) suffer chronically with methemoglobinemia are treated life long with MB.

The blood brain barrier limits the passage of certain things into the brain, oxygen can get through, but water needs its own transport system.  MB is able to pass the barrier, which has some neurologic impacts.

Other uses for MB has also been shown for :  really any process where you can increase oxygen energy production you will see a benefit Dr. Lima….

  • Alzheimers: MB antagonizes TAU protein aggregation. AD is the inability of the brain to use oxygen to prevent oxidative damage.
  • Parkinsons disease
  • brain injuries
  • environmental toxin exposure (which is huge in parkinsons)
  • stoke – especially all those who have been vaccinated… many stroke and heart issues are happening…MB can be protective in ishemic strokes.
  • hypoxia ( in my mind, i’m also thinking not just MO poisoning but also airway issues)
  • infections
  • memory enhancement
  • cosmetic skin care products – not much studies, but in principle seems helpful.

Whats the proper dosage??? The uses of MB depends on its dosage.  There’s something called the biphasic dose response. For practical purposes we just use mg per kg of weight.
Research shows:

The range varies from 1/2 mg per kg of body weight to about 4mg per kg of body weight.

A single dose for intervention thats acute will go up to 3-4 mg per kg body weight.
A chronic situation works for a low dose which is about 1/2-1 mg per kg of body weight.

For skin issues, combined with light (locally on the area) it is about 4mg/kg.

The research recommends to not take it every day if you are going to do low dose and to do the 1/2mg dose.  If you use it everyday, the 1/2 life of orally taking it is about 12-13 hours. It primarily leaves through the urine and some of it becomes stored in the bladder.  On a side note, before antibiotics were used for bladder infections, MB would be used in higher doses…  Why don’t they recommend it anymore!?!  Seems much more effective than ruining your gut with antibiotics, especially with the elderly who get UTIs often.  It acts as a pro-oxidant killing the bacteria.

….If your urine is clear it will look more blueish, if it is more concentrated, it will look more greenish. Taking the low dose you can see how long you can urinate with discoloration, you will know theres still MB in the system, and you can wait until it’s gone to dose again.

Contraindications?? Because it is a medication, there will be contraindications.  Those with the genetic variation of GSPD CANNOT take this compound as it is extremely dangerous, and those with elevated liver enzymes.  Additionally, anyone taking anti depressants SSRI or SNRI cannot take this compound in high ranges.  Dr. Lima stated that the problem isn’t MB its the high levels of the SSRI’s that are circulating…MB is an MAO inhibitor, which means it actually acts like an antidepressant.  There’s no research that shows interactions of SSRI and MB in low doses.

Purity?? As with anything, we always want to make sure that the MB is pure.  Additionally, you want to make sure it is pharmaceutical grade.  There’s three types: industrial, chemical and pharmaceutical grade. Don’t go to the pet store and get MB.  The industrial grade has like over half being contaminated with heavy metals… so don’t do that!
Chemical grade has a higher purity, but is still not good to give to humans. The chemical is what is used for staining purposes.

Pharmaceutical grade is what you need for highest purity and also to get the results we’re talking about here.  It is mostly used through IV.  However you can get an oral supply, in which you want to add in the ascorbic acid as the filler, as it facilitates the reduction of MB so it actually gets absorbed.  Before MB can be entered through the cell it needs to be reduced.  USP grade MB is typically recommended.

Additionally, red light has also been shown to help absorb methylene blue because the photon is the same energy as the electron.  So it’s great to use with your light therapy devices!  It’s shown in research to combine both for skin tumors and dermatological issues.

As with ANYTHING, it all depends on your unique biochemistry.  Just because its a “good” compound doesn’t mean you necessarily NEED it..  We can get caught in that trap.  So I always test it with clients and if it tests as safe, then we can incorporate it in.  I’m always cautious with pharmaceuticals in the sense of I want to use more natural items to achieve results.

Leaky Brain. It’s a thing…

Leaky Brain.. It’s a THING!

Hey Warriors.
Happy Monday!  I hope you enjoyed last blogs topic all about fasting.  It’s such a great simple tool to help your body heal and reset.

This week we are going over Leaky Brain!

So let’s dive in.

First off,
What is leaky Brain?

I’m sure by now, a lot of you know or have heard of Leaky Gut, in which there’s a protective barrier between the gut and the blood. It’s the same thing with the brain, it’s got a protective barrier protecting it from the surroundings and it’s really an even tighter pack then what the barrier from the gut to the blood is because we want to keep bad stuff out of the brain like toxins, infections and harmful immune cells and keep good stuff going into the brain like glucose, ketones and fat soluble nutrients. Leaky brain in essence is a breakdown or a breach of the blood brain barrier.

Our bodies and our brains are constantly being bombarded with these toxins, environmental or bio toxins or even thought toxins that it breaks down the barrier and now it’s easier for these substances to get in. They get in there and they stay in, and sometimes it’s hard to get rid of them.
Think about it this way.  Think of a shoe when you tie up the laces it should be nice and tight. The only things that can get in are maybe water.  The more that the laces loosen, the more pebbles and stones and sand can get in and now the pebble in your shoe doesn’t feel very good, and creates inflammation.
Normally the brain can repair itself but because of this breakdown of the blood brain barrier this leaky brain, now things are constantly getting in causing more brain inflammation and not allowing your brain to actually heal.

How common is leaky brain? And maybe someone with a chronic illness?

90% of the chronic disorders, degeneration diseases including chronic illness is lifestyle related. Our lifestyle leads to the leaky brain, but we have to take a step back and address the whole body not just the brain but the gut ,the liver, kidneys and lymphatic system because that all leads up to the brain and gives nutrition to the brain. It’s a relatively new phenomenon or concept just like leaky gut was 10 or 15 years ago but it is very common.

If you have leaky gut does that mean you have leaky brain??

It might take a little bit longer to get the leaky brain than the leaky gut because it doesn’t actually start in the gut. If you allow the toxins whether it’s biotoxin infections, parasites, bacteria or mold into your system into the blood it makes its way up into the brain and starts attacking that barrier and getting through. The majority 85-90% again I’m turning out these numbers just because if chronic illness or degeneration including Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, MS key neurodegenerative diseases are preventable which I believe they are and are due to more lifestyle,  I would say 85-90% if you have leaky gut you’re going to have leaky brain.

What are some common Symptoms that someone would know that they have leaky brain?

Memory, brain fog or emotional side effects like anxiety, depression are warning signs if you are talking about just brain issues or brain symptoms. Systemic issues you could get allergies .it could be headaches and migraines, I know that’s what I suffered from with leaky brain. You could be constipated you could have bladder infections all signs of poor gut health leading to poor immune system health. Sometimes the brain fog or anxiety might not be the first symptom it might say you know that’s been there for awhile who knows months years decades, you better address that now or else it’s going to progress even into these things where it’s even more degeneration where your body is trying to protect itself from this inflammation  like dementia, Alzheimer’s, cancer..

Is there actual tears in the barrier, or just more permeability?

It’s both but I would say it’s more of the middle one where it’s at increased permeability with toxins and infections like parasites can break it down to where tears happen.

What causes it?

There are three things that cause this to happen.

1. Deficiencies in Oxygen.  This can be deficiencies in micronutrients because of toxin load, but in this point specifically I mean due to head trauma or posture issues.
Think about all the the stresses we put on our spine by sitting too much, by using our cell phones or smartphones or computers getting in a slumped posture, injuries that we’ve had, it leads to deficiencies in the nervous system flow with the brain getting that information down to the cells of the body.  The cells relaying that information back up so that in and of itself causes leaky brain. It causes a breach of the blood brain barrier not able to utilize the nutrients because the spine is in such horrible shape in that position they are not getting oxygen. If you slumped down in your chair as you’re reading this and try to take a deep breath in and then maybe you sit up straight or straighter and you take a deep breath, you’re going to notice how much easier it is to take that breath in getting more oxygen sitting up.  Research also shows the forward head position causes a change in the neck curve, which causes de-myelination of the neuronal sheath (another word is MS). Brain injuries definitely cause depletion of oxygen to your brain, which means not giving the brain the environment to heal.

2. Toxicities and deficiencies.
Biotoxins, mold, viruses, parasites, bacteria. When people hear bacteria they might think well I don’t have the flu, I’m not sick or I don’t feel that way because you think of bacteria as a cold or virus as the flu and that’s not the case.  It could present itself like migraines, low energy, brain fog. That’s more the biotoxins and then we can go into the environmental side of it like the glyphosate, herbicides,  pesticides, heavy metals. The brain LOVES different types of heavy metals like Mercury, lead, tin, aluminum.  They get caught in the brain, and if you think about yourselves like a a bucket and we fill them up with these toxicities, there’s not any room for nutrients and micronutrients like anti-oxidants, enzymes, vitamins or minerals to help make these reactions go to help give you the energy that you need to help you recover from the chronic illness.
That leads to deficiencies.

85,000 chemicals are registered in the US and none of them really have been tested for safety or tested how they interact, I mean the numbers are quite staggering. Radioactive elements I see being a big toxin like EMF’s causing brain issues and leaky brain especially because it breaks down the blood brain barrier. Yes 5G and wifi are huge for leaky brain!  Get away from that technology people!

Even at a young age these toxins are being introduced into our kids’ bodies, through food, air and injections that it’s even more important nowadays to make your body stronger to deal with the toxins and to be able to manage and get rid of them. What happens when we can’t get rid of them leads to more deficiencies in our our nutrients.

Infections like parasites, mold and Lyme Disease are big ones I find in the brain quite commonly.  These eat away at the layer and cause brain permeation.

Did you know last week was a FULL MOON? This is a time that parasites come out! It’s great to do parasite cleanses during the full moon to eliminate them.  A lot of people will say they don’t feel good around the time of the full moon, and if they are filled with parasites, this is when they really activate. Parasites are nocturnal, and have life cycles that go along with the full moon, so they are up reproducing in your bloodstream at night.  This means more anxiety, depression or insomnia. You of course want to make sure you are on my genetic protocol to make sure your drainage pathways are open before eliminating parasites, but you will want to do a parasite cleanse if this is your case. I love using my craniobiotic technique to kill parasites, but this mix is good to have on hand for each full moon if you aren’t near me!!  Use the code here  to order the full moon kit:  cellcorebiosciences.com/products/full-moon-kit

USE CODE: DRL06CZE

REMEMBER, the brain is made of 75% water.  In order to properly flush those toxins out, you need to be hydrated and get hydration into the cell! that’s where our kangan water comes in!

3. Mindset.  There is so much research on mindset.  I don’t like categorizing one is more important than the other, but we can’t ever out eat or out nutritional a bad mindset because we’re always going to revert back to our baseline. We might have the best strategy, we might have the best nutrition and detox program but unless our mind is ready for it and I don’t mean: “alright believe to achieve” or say these affirmations, if we don’t believe in our subconscious are unconscious, and if we’re constantly saying things consciously those affirmations that our unconscious doesn’t believe it’s it’s never gonna breakthrough. It might have short-term success but it’s all about reprogramming that fixed mindset into a growth mindset.

Mindset is the foundation with which we build our nutrition, we build our fitness, we build our sleeping we build everything because what that is whatever we focus on. Whatever mindset goes to whatever our subconscious believes to be true.

This is a toxic mindset:  things are never going to get better, I’m never gonna get over this, I’m always gonna end up in this position, I’m never going to have the life that I want. It’s a lot of never and always.  If you want to think about  the non serving thoughts and we want to be happy with who we are but if these thoughts are leading us towards non serving behaviors and actions and habits than that is what is limiting us in getting better.
If you’re  struggling with chronic illness with Lyme disease for instance, if we automatically think, I’ve tried everything and then you quit, you just haven’t found the right thing yet and it’s a process that we go through it’s not just a simple thing of OK I’m going to think positive today and then tomorrow everything is going to be better. 5 minutes a day count your wins.
If you don’t have the energy and you don’t feel like walking, go outside and walk into your driveway and back.  That is a win! Keep counting that as a win until the next win.  That retrains your mindset.

How do I fix it?

When we talk about leaky brain, that means decreasing inflammation throughout the body, making sure our cells are working, and all our organs like the kidneys, liver, and bowels.

I always address the cranial system first to make sure oxygen can get into the brain more effectively.  If you can’t get oxygen to the BRAIN, then forget about nutrition.

My #2 is making sure hydration is dealt in.  If we can’t get your cells hydrated, it’s really hard to get nutrients in your cells.  I believe every patient should have Kangan water

#3 Mindset and Emotional Healing.  It’s hard to do much else if your subconscious is blocking healing.  We must deal with some of these roots before progressing.

#3 getting the detoxification and methylation pathways working.  We need to start rebuilding the body by healing and feeding organs and pathways and then cleaning out toxins gradually.  Don’t go and do heavy metal clearing or big infection protocols when you first need to rebuild.

#4 Clear Infections.  Once your methylation is working properly, your organs will be dumping out chemicals, toxins, metals and BUGS.  Sometimes you need a little further help getting these critters out, but most the time the other toxins will release on their own.

#5 Load up with phyto nutrient rich foods, fermented foods and pre and probiotic rich foods.

#6 Get Moving.  Moving increase BDNF (brain derived neurotrophic factor).  More High intensity interval training increases this the most, but any movement will do.  Just Keep moving!  This moves your lymphatic system which is needed to get rid of inflammation!

OIL OF THE WEEK

This week we are talking about Rose Oil.

Rose oil is one of the highest vibrancy oils that we have.  What do I mean?  Well when we talk about radioactive toxins like EMF’s we need high vibrancy to combat them.  Rose oil is great to add into your routine to help fight free radical damage from EMF’s.

It’s also a warm and loving oil.  This oil has turned to one of my favorites because of its such rich and vibrant smell.  It’s also wonderful for the skin with antiaging properties.

Make sure this is in your home!

That’s all for now.
Have a happy and healthy week.

Nutrition to Help Heal Your Brain

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you all had a beautiful weekend and are enjoying this month’s topics revolving around the brain and brain injury!

Last week we talked about PTSD, emotional dysfunction and brain injury, so if you missed it, it’s a good one!  Head on over to my website to catch up!

Brain injury, PTSD and messed up emotions.. Whats the connection?

——–

To end out the month of March, I thought we’d finish up with some nutritional recommendations that can be helpful when dealing with brain injury and just overall boosting your brain’s ability to function.

This is of course, after having done the first things we talked about this month like Craniopathy care, emotional help, and assessing the jaw/bite.  These must be done first, but there are great anti-inflammatory foods as well as nutritional recommendations that can be very helpful to help the brain and nervous system heal more effectively.

Let’s start with some brain facts and why the nutrition you put in your body is so important to help your brain function and do all the tasks that it needs to:

1.  Your brain utilizes 25% of the food energy we consume. That means whatever we put into our body, 25% of that is going straight away to the brain for fuel.

Meaning if you need your brain to heal, or if you need it to work harder or more efficiently, you can’t feed it junk.  It utilizes a lot of nutrients!

2. Your brain utilizes 25% of O2. This is a big point why the craniopathy care is VITAL as well as examining air passageways to make sure it gets enough oxygen to heal/function.

3.  The brain is 1-2% of our body fat.

4. The brain is made of 60% fat.  “Fat Head”.  That means it NEEDS a lot of good fats to function.  The more inflammation and damage, the more good fats we need.  Hence why so many individuals are leaning towards more ketogenic diets.  I’m not saying it’s for everyone, and I modify it for different people, but so many are fat deficient in our society, with too much emphasis on carbohydrates and proteins.

5.  The brain is THE MOST affected by nutrition/and it’s environment.  We already talked about the brain environment a few weeks ago, so we most certainly need to change that or else nutrition won’t make much difference long term.  However, since it’s the most affected by these two, we need to make sure as best as we can we are feeding it what it needs!

So what does the brain need?
– Well it needs good sources of fats like fish, grass fed meats, coconut oil, grass fed better, oils, nuts, avocados, ect.
– It also needs some good carbs in the sense of fruit and veggies
– It doesn’t need as much protein, but that being said if you are eating good amounts of grass fed proteins and fruits and veggies, protein won’t be a problem.  Most people focus too much on getting enough protein which is usually dysfunctional if their upper digestion is improper and not breaking it down.  Not so much that you need  more consumption.

The four best brain foods are as follows:

1. Salmon – high in good fats omega 3

2. Wild Blueberries – high in natural antioxidants.

3.  Greens: Spinach/kale/swiss chard/ collards – high in folate, iron, calcium and vitamins E and K.

4. Nuts: Walnuts.- high in good fats, ALA/ Omega 3

These are all wonderful nutrients that help us to utilize that brain power that we need, while giving the vital nutrients needed to heal.

Ww also know about the Gut/Brain Connections, as I’m sure you’ve heard me talk in exhaustion by now.

The human DNA has over 20,000 genes, which the gut microbiome has 10 million genes.  This means that problems in the gut can have a HUGE impact on how our brain and body functions.

—-

For instance, you can have gut dysfunction and it not manifest as actual digestion problems.  The gut/brain axis is so closely connected that it can really affect anything down that chain.

Symptoms such as tired, bloated, brain fog, cravings, or headaches….
All symptoms of dys-regulated gut/brain axis.

What I do like to mention though is yes, this gut/brain function is HUGE for adults but who is most affected by gut dysfunction is our children.  Children are 10X more likely to feel effects than adults. That means you could give your child a junk meal, high in carbs or sugar,  25% goes straight to the brain for fuel and if given junk the child is going to associate a symptom 10X more and faster.

You will see this when a child eats a heavy sugar meal or carb heavy and has a temper tantrum that day or the next couple of days. Or maybe they have a food allergy you don’t know about, because they don’t have a stomach reaction. They are growing and developing, and their brain needs that good nutrition to help those brain pathways to develop.  Quick changes in the mood or function of their body is most likely due to inflammation somewhere, and the head and gut are always my first go to’s.

It’s also important to differentiate for adults and children the difference between SNACKS and TREATS.

Many parents will give there kiddos a sugar filled bar, or fruit snacks, cookies, ect for a “snack”, when it in reality is a “treat.”
On the whole, we shouldn’t consume these foods daily for snacks.  Once in a while it can be a “Treat”, like say at a birthday party or an event.  But, snacks should always consist of actual food needed to help us function.

A study done By Oxford in 2005 showed that brain foods in general helped school children with reading, spelling and writingWhen we “feed” the brain what it needs, it will perform how we need it to.

The more junk food we consume, the more what is called oxidative stress builds up in our bodies. What do I mean by junk?
– Processed foods!  Anything in a box or bag.  Breads, pastas, rice, GMO foods, fast foods, lots of sugar, corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, to name a few.  Basically just not real food.  Even some “organic” labeled food can be junk.  Like organic crackers… Yes maybe the ingredients are better, but is a high carb load really what you need for your brain, probably not unless you are an elite athlete that burns so many carbs.

Oxidative stress can come from other things as well such as physical stress, metabolism, uv rays, alcohol, pollutants and toxins, pesticides and herbicides, lack of sleep, smoking, ozone, emotional stress, processed foods, radiation, car exhaust, EMFs ect….

We DON’T Want oxidative stress because that means our cells and in particular our cell’s membranes won’t work well.  We need those membranes to be strong.  If they aren’t memory will decline, and chronic inflammation will occur.

That’s why eating foods high in anti-oxidants and using other means like Kangan water, DoTerra Essential oils like clove, rosemary, juniper berry and others which are high in antioxidants are so helpful for taking that oxidative stress down.

Unfortunately our foods are just not rich enough in these brain nutrients so supplementation is often needed.  This is because our quality again is so poor, soil quality ect.  So supplementation to fill in these gaps is VITAL.

Giving things like Omegas, whole food vitamins/minerals, gingko, alpha lipoic acid, glutathione/milk thistle and others are vital for that brain function.  These I offer in my practice.  Other’s are needed with brain injury or brain infections that happen.  I like to use actual brain gland to support these and stem cell organ supplementation to help rebuild the brain.

—-

Other ways we can improve our brain is through neuro aerobics.

Doing things to constantly keep the brain active.  This is great for ADD, brain fog, memory, brain injury and dementia.
– Things like exercise
– Brain exercises like those found on luminosity or other kinetic movements
-learning an instrument
– learning a new craft
-educating in general
-moving while working your brain like working out and counting by 2s and 3s or backwards.

Our brain will adapt if we don’t challenge it.  That’s why those who are more active have actually smarter brains.
There’s so much research for exercise and brain function because it increase difference factors in the brain like NRF2 and others.

I hope this topic was helpful to you!  Take care of your brain it’s the BEST ASSET you have really.

Till next week!
