Extremity Pain

Dr. Rachel Hamel

Even though low back pain, headaches and neck pain are the more common complaints associated with the chiropractic profession, the shoulders/hip/elbows/wrists/ankles can also be greatly helped with chiropractic care. Again, much like any complaint, these extremity pains can come from multiple different causes.

Probable causes of extremity pains:

  • Overuse of a muscle/joint
  • Too much or too little movement in a muscle/joint
  • Scar Tissue
  • Injury
  • Stress
  • Nutritional deficiency
  • Infection
  • Other such as improper shoes, ect.

How do we treat extremities?

Dr. Hamel has had advanced training in extremity manipulation, as well as using modalities like cold laser, IASTM, Rocktape and rehab exercises to help heal injuries and decrease pain to these joints. It’s important to look to find the direct cause of the extremity pain: is it the joint itself, or is it compensating from something elsewhere in the body.
