I honestly find if hard to talk about health topics, when so much is going on around us, but there is a lot of good happening too.  So be encouraged.  A lot is getting blasted open, people are healing and getting restored.  Remember to keep joy in your life at all costs.  Take breaks from information like this and enjoy the ones around you. Okay, on to this week’s topic :  Genetics and Heavy Metals. 

Last time we talked about Leaky Brain, which was a pretty big hit!  A lot of people had no idea about this concept or what causes it.  Cause #2 for leaky brain is TOXINS.. As as we know toxins are quite literally everywhere.  Food, Air, Water, Dental Materials, Cleaning/beauty products, EMF’s, and injections to name a few!

Part of that list includes heavy metals.  Although, slight amounts of some heavy metals, such as iron,, zinc  and copper, are essential for enzymatic activities in our body, other metals like lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury, are toxic for humans. Here is a list of where they are found and what they do.  This isn’t an all extensive list, but is a good start. 

Since we are exposed to these metals on a pretty regular basis, how are body responds to them depend on different internal and external environments. 
It also of course depends on the amount of the exposure and how the exposure was administered.  For instance, in a vaccination, the heavy metals are injected and bypass our internal detoxification organs(because we aren’t ingesting them) for breakdown, so this is a much higher and detrimental amount. 

We know now some of the serious side effects of heavy metal toxicity such as :  Loss of bones, kidney destruction, vascular disorders, developmental dysfunction and cancer are some of the well-known health problems triggered by heavy metals.  

Genetics and genetic variations are considered an internal contributing factor, and as the world of genetics is ever expanding, they are considered as novel and important contributors in heavy metal body retention and metabolism.  
I very often see heavy metals affecting a person’s mood (depression or anxiety), gut dysfunction, headaches, increasing infection load like candida and neurological dysfunction.  Another common finding is skin rashes and irritations. 

There are certain genetic variants such as MTHFR, PON1, DMT1, GSH which are proteins that are either directly or indirectly involved in how we process and break down heavy metals.  This shows that heavy metal metabolism plays a huge role in a person’s sensitivity and severity of health effects.
This is HUGE news!

This is part why I got so interested in looking into genetics and why certain people handle substances well and others not.  Or why one patient got well with something and the next didn’t.  Genetics are like our own blueprint, and can give us so much insight into how to know how each of our bodies uniquely work!  The more you know about it, the more you can help your body by enhancing it.  It might I add also save a TON of $ knowing what is optimal for you and what isn’t….

 So again… Just to recap, certain variations in genes make it hard for that person to detoxify against heavy metals.  That means that all those “heavy metal” detoxes and protocols out there, could possibly be doing someone major harm for certain individuals if they can’t metabolize it!  

The purpose of most heavy metal detox programs is to utilize something to attract the metal to it.  The most utilized one now is called zeolites, which are made from volcanic ash.  Before diving into genetics I used to use these remedies all the time. As the metals attach to it, your body is then supposed to eliminate it.  However, many had very severe symptoms like fatigue and headaches even though zeolites are typically very safe.  My instincts are that certain individuals because of these genes have a VERY hard time eliminating them.  

Keep in mind, actual increased exposure to these metals can also shut down certain genetic enzymes as well, so we must get them out, but we must get them out safely. 

Let’s talk for a minute about what each of these Genes Do. 

1. Metallothionein 2 A (MT2 A).This gene is a cysteine rich protein located in cytoplasm of cells.  These proteins are involved in body responses to both xenobiotic heavy metals, such as mercury, cadmium, arsenic. MTs are able to bind to heavy metals via their thiol groups and provide a protection against these materials in the body. 

2. Metallothionein 1 A (MT1 A). While the expression of MT2 A is induced by the presence of several metals, such as copper, zinc and cadmium, the expression of MT1 A was shown to be merely cadmium.  So this one is particularly important when those with high levels of this metal show up!

3. Divalent metal transporter 1 (DMT1). DMT1 transports not only iron, but also other metals like cadmium and lead. Other investigations also demonstrated an association between iron levels and the expression rate of DMT1 in the intestine. Accordingly, lower body iron levels can lead to higher rate of DMT1 expression and increasing the uptake and recovery of iron. However, over expression of this transporter can cause duodenal absorption of other biochemically similar metals, such as cadmium and lead.

4 .Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR).  A LOT of people have heard of this gene by now.  It does a LOT of things including: being a crucial enzyme in amino acid metabolism, is responsible for catalyzing the conversion of 5,10- methylene tetra hydro folate to 5- methylene tetra hydro folate, which is a co-substrate for re-methylation of homocysteine to methionine. Deficiency of MTHFR can cause homocysteinemia and some disruptions in metabolism of folate.
Genetic variations in MTHFR gene were shown to be associated with different conditions, such as depression, schizophrenia, inflammatory bowel diseases, and hyperhomocysteinemia.  TT homozygotes were suggested to be more sensitive to heavy metals and other environmental toxins.

5.Paraoxanase 1 (PON1). Paraoxonase 1 (PON1), (also known as A esterase), is a liver secreted glycoprotein, is responsible for anti-inflammatory and antioxidant defenses after its association with high-density lipoproteins (HDL) in bloodstream. So far, associations between PON1 genetic variations and different conditions, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, depressive and bipolar disorders, gestational diabetes mellitus and insulin resistance, have been shown by different research. 

6.Glutathione (GSH) related genes. Have you heard of glutathione before?  We naturally make it. Ligandins or glutathione s-transferases (GSTs), are a group of enzymes able to conjugate the reduced form of glutathione (GSH) to xenobiotic substrates. This process finally leads to water solubility of these substrates and their easy detoxification.
Individuals with these genetic variants do really well with adding in glutathione to chelate heavy metals, since they don’t produce glutathione as well.  

Sorry for the chemistry lesson there, but it’s sometimes interesting to know what these genes are actually doing.

Having this information is extremely helpful in knowing that individuals limitations.  We can then give specific nutrients and recommendations to help safely and easily detoxify heavy metals if they are present.  Again, we don’t want to just go and do heavy metal clearings on everyone. It’s not safe, and can cause some real mitochondrial damage. If you have those silver amalgum fillings, we must get those out before doing a bunch of heavy metal clearing.  Going with a safe biological dentist is key for safety here. 

Heavy Metals and Sensitivity…
When you have heavy metal toxicity you can become very sensitive to many things.  One is EMF’s or electromagnetic frequencies.  This is because heavy metals act like an antennae for these frequencies pulling them into the skin and tissue through the sweat glands.  
If you’ve been with me for a little while you KNOW, that EMF’s are bad news.  A huge portion of coronavirus is the increased radiation of 5G causing toxic load. 

So, if you know that you have amalgam fillings for instance, or lots of heavy metal toxicity from vaccinations or other means, then it is WISE to keep your distance from Wifi, bluetooth and other forms of EMF’s.

OIL OF THE WEEK

This week we are talking about Melissa OIL.  This is the QUEEN of all oils….Lemon balm – also called melissa essential oil, short for its Latin name Melissa officinalis – is distilled from the leaves, which are quite easy to grow and replenish. Lemon balm comes from the same family as peppermint, which is typically known for being prolific and even invasive.

In spite of easy-growing techniques, the leaves themselves yield very little essential oil. So it isn’t a question of how quickly the plant produces but how much it must produce in order to yield a true, pure essential oil.

CANCER PREVENTION POTENTIAL OF MELISSA
Within my protocols and recommendations, lemon balm stands out as absolutely valuable due to its cancer prevention potential. As researchers uncover more and more about the mysteries of cancer and the potential that God-given substances have to erase it, I grow more excited about our work with essential oils.

Lemon balm (melissa essential oil), for example, went through an extensive study in 2014, testing its ability to mitigate brain cancer cells. The results taught scientists much about the way the composition of lemon balm interacts with brain cancer cells. In the end, they found that a major part of lemon balm – citral – had numerous effects on the process and behavior of brain cancer and “may be of potential interest for the treatment” of this particular kind of cancer. 4 MORE BENEFITS OF MELISSA ESSENTIAL OIL
Until we know just how to maximize lemon balm (melissa essential oil) as a cancer prevention and even treatment, lemon balm can benefit our lives in many ways, from daily comforts to long-term effects.

1.  ANTI-DIABETIC ACTIONS
Diabetes affects more and more people every day, from type 1 lack of insulin production to type 2 lack of insulin sensitivity. For type 2 diabetes, diet and lifestyle changes are a huge component of treatment.

Where diet and lifestyle are indicated, you are likely to find an essential oil to help as well. Such is the case with lemon balm, which has been tested as an anti-diabetic essential oil. Mouse studies suggest that even small amounts of lemon balm essential oil can help to curb type 2 diabetes. (2)

It’s important to know your diabetes diagnosis well before looking toward additional nutritive treatment like essential oils. Once you understand what your body needs, you can look to oils like lemon balm to assist treatment.

2. HEALING COLD SORES
Not only are cold sores uncomfortable and unsightly, they are a virus that can be transmitted. In fact, cold sores fall under the umbrella of herpes – the herpes simplex virus. So if you are struggling against cold sores, it’s not just a soothing reprieve you need. You need an antiviral!

Many essential oils are antivirals and could be used against cold sores. Lemon balm, though, appears to be directly effective against the herpes simplex virus. (3) As part of a soothing lip balm, you can address both the need to sooth painful sores and attack the virus at its root.

Application: Include a few drops of lemon balm in a melted mixture of a bit of coconut oil and beeswax. Pour into a small tin and let set up. Remember not to share this lip balm – it’s a source of healing and you don’t want to share your cold sore, as well!

3. COGNITIVE CALM & RELAXATION
Lemon balm is traditionally used for its calming effects. Essential oils are perfectly suited for this purpose, with easy application (just breathe deep!) and relaxation promotion. Lemon balm may do much more than just relax you, though.

For example, one study published in 2012 demonstrated the ability that lemon balm has to directly affect the brain and neurotransmitters. The specific action studied actually has implications for improving cognitive function and even reversing the effects of Alzheimer’s disease. (4)

Such direct effects on the brain show us how deeply essential oils work in our bodies. Simply inhaling an oil like lemon balm is not just relaxing us because we like the scent, but it’s actually helping to change things deep within ourselves!

Application: Use a drop or two of lemon balm in calming and cognitive-enhancing blends. Diffuse for room-wide calming benefits or inhale directly for more targeted and specific results.

4. BUG REPELLENT
You’ve probably noticed by this point that bug repellent effects are a repeated benefit of many essential oils. It’s not universal for all essential oils, but many have shared components that are effective against mosquitoes, ticks, and other pests. With Lyme disease on the rise, this is more important than ever. For lemon balm, the shared component is citronellol and citral, shared with the popular bug repelling oil citronella.

Sometimes, these natural components are much more effective than synthetic alternatives. As one study noted of essential oils, “these natural products have the potential to provide efficient, and safer repellents for humans and the environment.”

Leaky Brain.. It’s a THING!

Happy Monday!  I hope you enjoyed last blogs topic all about fasting.  It’s such a great simple tool to help your body heal and reset.

This week we are going over Leaky Brain!

So let’s dive in.

First off,
What is leaky Brain?

I’m sure by now, a lot of you know or have heard of Leaky Gut, in which there’s a protective barrier between the gut and the blood. It’s the same thing with the brain, it’s got a protective barrier protecting it from the surroundings and it’s really an even tighter pack then what the barrier from the gut to the blood is because we want to keep bad stuff out of the brain like toxins, infections and harmful immune cells and keep good stuff going into the brain like glucose, ketones and fat soluble nutrients. Leaky brain in essence is a breakdown or a breach of the blood brain barrier.

Our bodies and our brains are constantly being bombarded with these toxins, environmental or bio toxins or even thought toxins that it breaks down the barrier and now it’s easier for these substances to get in. They get in there and they stay in, and sometimes it’s hard to get rid of them.
Think about it this way.  Think of a shoe when you tie up the laces it should be nice and tight. The only things that can get in are maybe water.  The more that the laces loosen, the more pebbles and stones and sand can get in and now the pebble in your shoe doesn’t feel very good, and creates inflammation.
Normally the brain can repair itself but because of this breakdown of the blood brain barrier this leaky brain, now things are constantly getting in causing more brain inflammation and not allowing your brain to actually heal.

How common is leaky brain? And maybe someone with a chronic illness? 

90% of the chronic disorders, degeneration diseases including chronic illness is lifestyle related. Our lifestyle leads to the leaky brain, but we have to take a step back and address the whole body not just the brain but the gut ,the liver, kidneys and lymphatic system because that all leads up to the brain and gives nutrition to the brain. It’s a relatively new phenomenon or concept just like leaky gut was 10 or 15 years ago but it is very common.

If you have leaky gut does that mean you have leaky brain??

It might take a little bit longer to get the leaky brain than the leaky gut because it doesn’t actually start in the gut. If you allow the toxins whether it’s biotoxin infections, parasites, bacteria or mold into your system into the blood it makes its way up into the brain and starts attacking that barrier and getting through. The majority 85-90% again I’m turning out these numbers just because if chronic illness or degeneration including Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, MS key neurodegenerative diseases are preventable which I believe they are and are due to more lifestyle,  I would say 85-90% if you have leaky gut you’re going to have leaky brain.

What are some common Symptoms that someone would know that they have leaky brain?

Memory, brain fog or emotional side effects like anxiety, depression are warning signs if you are talking about just brain issues or brain symptoms. Systemic issues you could get allergies .it could be headaches and migraines, I know that’s what I suffered from with leaky brain. You could be constipated you could have bladder infections all signs of poor gut health leading to poor immune system health. Sometimes the brain fog or anxiety might not be the first symptom it might say you know that’s been there for awhile who knows months years decades, you better address that now or else it’s going to progress even into these things where it’s even more degeneration where your body is trying to protect itself from this inflammation  like dementia, Alzheimer’s, cancer..

Is there actual tears in the barrier, or just more permeability?

It’s both but I would say it’s more of the middle one where it’s at increased permeability with toxins and infections like parasites can break it down to where tears happen.

What causes it?

There are three things that cause this to happen.

1. Deficiencies in Oxygen.  This can be deficiencies in micronutrients because of toxin load, but in this point specifically I mean due to head trauma or posture issues.
Think about all the the stresses we put on our spine by sitting too much, by using our cell phones or smartphones or computers getting in a slumped posture, injuries that we’ve had, it leads to deficiencies in the nervous system flow with the brain getting that information down to the cells of the body.  The cells relaying that information back up so that in and of itself causes leaky brain. It causes a breach of the blood brain barrier not able to utilize the nutrients because the spine is in such horrible shape in that position they are not getting oxygen. If you slumped down in your chair as you’re reading this and try to take a deep breath in and then maybe you sit up straight or straighter and you take a deep breath, you’re going to notice how much easier it is to take that breath in getting more oxygen sitting up.  Research also shows the forward head position causes a change in the neck curve, which causes de-myelination of the neuronal sheath (another word is MS). Brain injuries definitely cause depletion of oxygen to your brain, which means not giving the brain the environment to heal.

2. Toxicities and deficiencies. 
Biotoxins, mold, viruses, parasites, bacteria. When people hear bacteria they might think well I don’t have the flu, I’m not sick or I don’t feel that way because you think of bacteria as a cold or virus as the flu and that’s not the case.  It could present itself like migraines, low energy, brain fog. That’s more the biotoxins and then we can go into the environmental side of it like the glyphosate, herbicides,  pesticides, heavy metals. The brain LOVES different types of heavy metals like Mercury, lead, tin, aluminum.  They get caught in the brain, and if you think about yourselves like a a bucket and we fill them up with these toxicities, there’s not any room for nutrients and micronutrients like anti-oxidants, enzymes, vitamins or minerals to help make these reactions go to help give you the energy that you need to help you recover from the chronic illness.
That leads to deficiencies.

85,000 chemicals are registered in the US and none of them really have been tested for safety or tested how they interact, I mean the numbers are quite staggering. Radioactive elements I see being a big toxin like EMF’s causing brain issues and leaky brain especially because it breaks down the blood brain barrier. Yes 5G and wifi are huge for leaky brain!  Get away from that technology people!

Even at a young age these toxins are being introduced into our kids’ bodies, through food, air and injections that it’s even more important nowadays to make your body stronger to deal with the toxins and to be able to manage and get rid of them. What happens when we can’t get rid of them leads to more deficiencies in our our nutrients.

Infections like parasites, mold and Lyme Disease are big ones I find in the brain quite commonly.  These eat away at the layer and cause brain permeation.


Did you know last week was a FULL MOON? This is a time that parasites come out! It’s great to do parasite cleanses during the full moon to eliminate them.  A lot of people will say they don’t feel good around the time of the full moon, and if they are filled with parasites, this is when they really activate. Parasites are nocturnal, and have life cycles that go along with the full moon, so they are up reproducing in your bloodstream at night.  This means more anxiety, depression or insomnia. You of course want to make sure you are on my genetic protocol to make sure your drainage pathways are open before eliminating parasites, but you will want to do a parasite cleanse if this is your case. REMEMBER, the brain is made of 75% water.  In order to properly flush those toxins out, you need to be hydrated and get hydration into the cell! that’s where our kangan water comes in!

3. Mindset.  There is so much research on mindset.  I don’t like categorizing one is more important than the other, but we can’t ever out eat or out nutritional a bad mindset because we’re always going to revert back to our baseline. We might have the best strategy, we might have the best nutrition and detox program but unless our mind is ready for it and I don’t mean: “alright believe to achieve” or say these affirmations, if we don’t believe in our subconscious are unconscious, and if we’re constantly saying things consciously those affirmations that our unconscious doesn’t believe it’s it’s never gonna breakthrough. It might have short-term success but it’s all about reprogramming that fixed mindset into a growth mindset.

Mindset is the foundation with which we build our nutrition, we build our fitness, we build our sleeping we build everything because what that is whatever we focus on. Whatever mindset goes to whatever our subconscious believes to be true.

This is a toxic mindset:  things are never going to get better, I’m never gonna get over this, I’m always gonna end up in this position, I’m never going to have the life that I want. It’s a lot of never and always.  If you want to think about  the non serving thoughts and we want to be happy with who we are but if these thoughts are leading us towards non serving behaviors and actions and habits than that is what is limiting us in getting better.
If you’re  struggling with chronic illness with Lyme disease for instance, if we automatically think, I’ve tried everything and then you quit, you just haven’t found the right thing yet and it’s a process that we go through it’s not just a simple thing of OK I’m going to think positive today and then tomorrow everything is going to be better. 5 minutes a day count your wins.
If you don’t have the energy and you don’t feel like walking, go outside and walk into your driveway and back.  That is a win! Keep counting that as a win until the next win.  That retrains your mindset.

How do I fix it?

When we talk about leaky brain, that means decreasing inflammation throughout the body, making sure our cells are working, and all our organs like the kidneys, liver, and bowels.

I always address the cranial system first to make sure oxygen can get into the brain more effectively.  If you can’t get oxygen to the BRAIN, then forget about nutrition.

My #2 is making sure hydration is dealt in.  If we can’t get your cells hydrated, it’s really hard to get nutrients in your cells.  I believe every patient should have Kangan water

#3 Mindset and Emotional Healing.  It’s hard to do much else if your subconscious is blocking healing.  We must deal with some of these roots before progressing.

#3 getting the detoxification and methylation pathways working.  We need to start rebuilding the body by healing and feeding organs and pathways and then cleaning out toxins gradually.  Don’t go and do heavy metal clearing or big infection protocols when you first need to rebuild.

#4 Clear Infections.  Once your methylation is working properly, your organs will be dumping out chemicals, toxins, metals and BUGS.  Sometimes you need a little further help getting these critters out, but most the time the other toxins will release on their own.

#5 Load up with phyto nutrient rich foods, fermented foods and pre and probiotic rich foods.

#6 Get Moving.  Moving increase BDNF (brain derived neurotrophic factor).  More High intensity interval training increases this the most, but any movement will do.  Just Keep moving!  This moves your lymphatic system which is needed to get rid of inflammation!

OIL OF THE WEEK

This week we are talking about Rose Oil.

Rose oil is one of the highest vibrancy oils that we have.  What do I mean?  Well when we talk about radioactive toxins like EMF’s we need high vibrancy to combat them.  Rose oil is great to add into your routine to help fight free radical damage from EMF’s.

It’s also a warm and loving oil.  This oil has turned to one of my favorites because of its such rich and vibrant smell.  It’s also wonderful for the skin with antiaging properties.

This week we are going to be talking about fasting!

Fasting has been a part of our spiritual and physical awareness for thousands of years, but one could argue that the need for fasting has never been so great as it is today! Even if your diet is excellent, the food, water, and air you consume is contaminated with chemicals and endocrine disruptors that speed up your body’s rate of injury and disrepair. I know, but it’s true we live in a toxic soup…The toxicity we have produced and what we continue to consume is really why we are seeing such a decline in health.

Fasting allows you to recoup a deeper reservoir of coping mechanisms at the cellular level to inspire detoxification, recovery of the metabolic system, and to repair pathways that are intrinsic to your physical and emotional wellbeing.

In particular we will be talking about something called intermittent fasting. Why intermittent? Well because this effects the brain and nervous system the most!  Let me explain what intermittent means.  It means fasting for subsequent hours such as stopping eating at 8PM and not eating anything again till 12PM.  This is a 16 hour fast.  You then eating in the 8 hour window. When we allow our body to take a break from digesting food for these intermittent times, it allows our body to go through a process of autophagy.  Autophagy is a process we go through naturally in our body that old cells die and are recycled, like our body cleaning house.  When this system is disrupted, it has been shown to create neurodegeneration. Short term fasting has been shown in research to dramatically upregulate neuronal autophagy.  In another mouse study, intermittent fasting was shown to improve cognitive function, brain structure, and neuroplasticity, which is fancy-speak for the brain’s ability to reorganize and rebuild itself.

Fasting has also been shown to help weight loss, reduce inflammation and benefit cancer patients to name a few…

Fasting is defined as consuming only plain water, or black coffee, or unsweetened tea.
Intermittent fasting works best when combined with a low carb-high fat diet of real, whole foods. For some that may have difficulty digesting fats, we need to look into their enzymes and energy pathways to make sure they can break down cholesterol effectively, or else they will get gallbladder pain/stagnation or what they call the “keto flu”. We will need to supplement as needed to make sure increasing good fats is something they can handle. That’s why working with a health professional can be really helpful to know what is personalized for you and what is safe.

The fasting timeline is one that will gradually develop.  At first you may not be able to last past 9AM if you are accustomed to eating breakfast.  This is where having tea/coffee with a good fat source like my MCT oil come in handy!  (link on my website). But, don’t beat yourself up.  If you only made it to 9AM, that is fine!  You will gradually be able to last longer and longer the more your body gets used to fasting and the more good fats you incorporate into your diet for fuel source.  

The reason I mainly talk about intermittent fasting, is because this is generally what I find the most compliance with individuals.  Patients are more cooperative when they have a set schedule and about an 8 hour window to per day to consume their good quality whole foods.  Having someone fast for an entire day can be another feat.

At no point are you starving during a fast. You are mobilizing the average reservoir of 30,000 to 100,000 excess calories that are stored in the fat in your liver, abdominal fat, and peripheral fat – typically in that order. Even if your body is at the lowest end of the normal curve of ideal body weight, the body still holds 15-25% of its weight in central and peripheral fat storage.

On the other side of the fast is a healthier you. During the fast you have the opportunity to experience rest and reset for your immune system, mind, and spirit. This is not always comfortable on your initial attempts. Your gut-brain axis has never rested like this, invasive thoughts, cravings, self-doubt, emotional lability are all common in those first fasts.

The more often you fast there will be less trepidation, and it will be easier to sustain wellness and recognize milestones for each subsequent fast.

 

Intermittent fasting works the best when you can schedule around the same time every day, so usually week days are better.  You might try with 3 days a week doing a 16 hour fast (or working up to it).  You may stay at this, or switch to doing it everyday like me. 

I do however suggest that some individuals do an actual water fast every now and then.  Why?  Well your small intestine for instance regenerates itself in three days.  Often times if there is a lot of inflammation, then fasting can really help this person’s ability to get rid of dead old tissue and regenerate new. 

We also know that spiritually: fasting improves our mental clarity.  When you control your mind over food, you control your flesh so to speak. Fasting allows us to develop silent moments  to hear from our intrinsic intelligence. Researchers have linked fasting to an increased level of vigilance and mood improvement, sometimes euphoria.  Fasting mice have found to produce as much as 5 times the amount of endogenous opiates in just 24 to 48 hours of fasting!  Intermittent fasting also causes an increase in a molecule known as BDNF (brain-derivated neurotrophic factor) which plays a role in important aspects of brain function relating to mood and cognitive function such as regulating serotonin metabolism, improving synaptic plasticity, and increasing the brain’s ability to resist aging.

Another thought is that since fasting puts the body into a state of ketosis — in which the body is burning molecules known as ketone bodies rather than glucose — the ketone bodies themselves may play a role in improving mental clarity and mood, decreasing pain, and promoting neuronal protection against hypoglycemia and different types of brain damage.

After you are finished with your fast, it is best to break your fast (breakfast ;))  with a good source of fat or whole food.  If you break it straight with a carbohydrate you may not see as great of a benefit than if you continue with ketosis while consuming more good fats.  This doesn’t mean eating a bunch of dairy.. I’m really not on board with the amount of dairy most “keto” people consume.  There are other great sources of good fats like organic nuts, kefir, eggs, Coconut oil, grass fed meats and others.

Please note: If you are new to fasting, have pre existing medical conditions or are on medications, you should consult your personal healthcare provider before you begin multi-day fasting. IT is not recommended for children, for some people with diabetes or other issues with blood sugar, or for pregnant women.

 

Unlike long chain triglycerides, which must first bond with bile and cholesterol prior to being utilized as an energy source by the body, the medium chain triglycerides found in coconut oil can be metabolized directly by the liver into the very highest quality units of cellular energy available, called alpha-keto acids.

The byproduct of this process results in the formation of another compound, called a 1-monoglyceride. Depending on the specific medium chain triglyceride being metabolized, the resulting 1-monoglyceride will exert a varying degree of antifungal, antiviral, antiparasitic, or antibacterial influence in the body.

Although it is well suited for cellular energy applications, the fatty acid profile of coconut oil leaves some “room for improvement” in regard to the 1-monoglyceride byproducts that it creates.

To address this need, Dr Hamel’s MCT Super Blend was developed. With over 4 times as much capric acid, and over 3 times as much caprylic and caproic acid as would be found in virgin coconut oil, Dr. Hamel’s Super Blend is vastly superior in regard to antifungal and antiviral applications. Effective Cellular Hydration.. AlkaLIZED not AlkaLINE.

Happy Monday! Another couple weeks has gone by, which means it’s time for our bimonthly Blog. So much has been happening in our world the past four months, which I truly believe it to be an awakening of deep corruption that has been going on for some time.  I think next month I’m going to chat about some emotional components of these surprise seasons because after all emotions are 1/3 of our health.

This week we are talking all about hydration.  Not only hydration but cellular hydration.  A big difference there. There are many facets to health and longevity and if you’ve been here for awhile you know that I talk about many of those in different ways.  Brain healing, food quality, electricity, emotions….. Well today we are digging into hydration.
So let’s dive in..

Did you now that 71% of the earth is water, and our bodies are made of 75% water, 75% is inside our cells. 
However, not all water is created equal.  We need water that actually goes into the cells of our body. Tap water is full of contaminants and other chemicals harmful to our body.  Bottle water sometimes may seem like the better option, but the production process is highly unregulated and contains harmful chemicals and hormone disruptors leached from the plastic containers.  It’s also acidic which affects your bodies pH and electrolyte balance. Not to mention plastic destroys our ecosystem.

Well water for those that have it, is a great option. Why? Because the earth breaks the water into smaller particle size units called the ORP(oxidative reductive potential). That ORP being small (or negative) is key.

If you take a handful of grapes, put in them in a colander and rinse them off with water, does the water go into the grapes?
No.  Why?
Because the skin of the grape bounces the water off.  So, guess what happens to most of the water that you drink, the same thing happens in your cells.  Your cells have a skin on the outside that repels most water, meaning  most of the water we drink is peed out.  That’s why a urinalysis is not always very effective at diagnosing, because most of the water you are peeing is the same water you drank 20 minutes ago, it’s not exchanging inside the cells. That exchanging process is HUGE for healing. So what’s inside your cells becomes old, stale, stagnant and mold ridden.  We start to rot and rust on the inside out even though we are drinking 6 gallons of water per day.  If the water you are drinking is not small enough in ORP, the old water is not coming out of your cells and the new water is not coming in. This can really hinder our cellular regeneration.  It also really hinders our ability with nutrients to get inside the cell for healing.

Nutrition is key right?  But it is getting in your cells?  We don’t want to pee out all that good nutrition we pay lots of $ for!
Additionally, when we talk about cellular regeneration from EMF’s, radiation and free radicals we have to be able to flush them out. Regular water can’t do that.

For all my exercise people out there (which should be all of you:))
Dehydration of just 3% causes: 18% decline in muscular power, 70% increase in “perceived” fatigue, and 12% decrease in reaction time.
I think it’s fair to say if the majority aren’t drinking well water or alkalized water they are dehydrated….

Also,
It’s not about the PH of the water,  you can make PH by adding baking soda to the water.  It doesn’t make the water more permeable.  The term you are looking for is alkalized not alkaline.  Water that is not only high pH, but that is a small enough particle size to actually go into your cells.
We know that more alkaline environments are better overall for health and healing.  Although our stomach and small intestine need acidic environments, the rest of our body does not. Acidic environments feed cancer cells. The accumulation of acidic waste products within our body is the process of aging. Therefore,
removing old, stored waste is reverse aging.

Most alkaline water out there is chemically processed to be alkaline.  It’s not a natural process. All the bottled electrolyte alkaline water on the shelves have been tested.  They aren’t really alkaline, and if they are, it’s a chemical process of doing so by adding bicarbonate.  Being here in California, we also hear about the magical carlsbad water.  People come from all over to get alkaline water for healing.  However, actually testing the water, it’s not that alkaline.  It’s better than other water and bottled water, but there is superior alkalinity.

And what about the brain?  The brain is 73% water.  How do we replenish the cells of the brain with hydration?  Nobody ever thinks of brain dehydration, but it happens.

So, whats the best?  I’ve mentioned well water, and although this is better than most, there is something more superior.
Kangan Water.

Happy Monday!  I know I just did a blog last week, but I will be gone next weekend so I thought I’d do 2 in a row!  Also… We’ve got an awesome topic today. It’s been a difficult 2020, hasn’t it?
Although we seemed to be out of the hole as far as re-opening up California, it seems as though another “wind” of cases has “emerged”, and we are looking at going back again.  If you just started following me, welcome,  if you have been with me then you know this is and has never been about a virus, but a matter of control. The numbers are not providing ANY information to close down again, but here we are feeling powerless.
Some of you as well, have trouble speaking to other people or family members about what is really going on here, and have just given up. 

I get it, and I don’t blame you.  You see, the way the medical system is set up and has been taught has been totally backwards.  And for them to even catch up to current medical researched science is going to take many years.  But, don’t just take it from me.  I watched an interview this week that was extremely fitting and basically said all that I would have said from a medical doctor named Zach Bush.  He was a guest speaker on the show LondonReal, which is an awesome source for non media tampering information.

The video was rather long, and I have a feeling that most will never take the time to watch a two hour episode, even though it could change our planet.  If you watched it, amazing!  If not, I’m going to summarize some main points here because I really believe that everyone should know.
And again, this is not from me, it’s from a well known triple board certified doctor.  His information is why many turn to us chiropractors for help, because our medical system is just not correct.  Despite ridicule and harshness, we’ve had to help fill that gap where medical doctors either couldn’t or weren’t willing.  Thankfully, more are rising..

So let’s dive in. 

The interview first begins with Dr. Bush describing why the world is in the state that it is because we have biologically lost the capability to produce life, as he related it to the old Star Trek Movies. You’ve got captain Kirk landing on these distant planets and they’re trying to decide if this is habitable to life.  It’s a perfectly set up planet with carbon soil and microbe species. We see the underpinnings of that collapse and it is because we are disrupting the carbon soil systems, the water and the air that we breathe and on this trajectory captain Kirk lands a few 100 years and finds a planet that’s no longer habitable by not just humans but any large biology.  I think that that we have a hard time imagining what it looks like to get from now to that point of complete collapse(like captain kirk witnessed) and this pandemic is a very minor ripple effect like a little early tremor in the collapse of the species.  A collapse in the ability to produce life because of our environment…

Dr. Bush is on the forefront of microbiome (a mass amount of colonies of fungi, bacteria in your gut) genomics, and has been for the past ten years. He does state additionally, this research is not just himself but a huge list of researchers and scientists that back him up. Before ten years ago, the mentality of the science community including himself at that time was that we are here to stamp out disease, but the idea of healthy living is remote and feels new-agey or somehow like fake science and so that’s an extraordinary mistake we made in medical education over the last 100 years was to get the opportunity to create such resilient health that we would be resistant to disease. ( THIS IS MY GOAL Y’ALL! -Dr Hamel)

Instead we focused all of our trillions of dollars on research and development, trillions of hours of manpower research and ingenuity and intuition on disease management instead of health, and so the result is what you see around you.  The reason the dialogue looks like it is in the government for The Who and CDC you is  part of this big machine of fear that we created as physicians as well, and so as physicians and scientists we have created in the fight against cancer and the fear of bacterial infections, the fear of viral infections when in fact none of that’s really underpinned by the current science!
Science has radically changed in the last 20 years and it hasn’t trickled down into the mindset of physicians scientists and especially the clinicians yet and so generally we expect that take 20 to 30 years to make a transition. This has been such a radical shift that’s come through our understanding of genomics in our ability to look at genomic sequencing of nature that we’re starting to realize we’re wrong and not as the center of the universe.

The speaker then asked well why China?
You will not find a disruption of soil, water and air anywhere faster than central China. China has managed to adopt western farming practices that has accelerated the death of soil worse than anywhere else. Beijing and all of its energy and transportation has pushed enormous amounts of air pollution down and you have this perfect toxic stew with the largest pork antibiotic production system in the world. When you do this, the response is adaptation, and biology goes into an explosive effort to find loopholes to find alternative biologic pathways to avoid toxicity to try not to go extinct and so in an execution of and you’re going to see an explosion of genetic intelligence variance coming out of all niches of biology to create adaptation for resilient recovery from an extinction event.  That’s what we’ve seen 5 big extinction events on the planet in the past and every time they happen we come back as a planet more diverse more biologically intelligent because of the viral explosion of intelligence that happens around us in extinction of that and so this coronavirus and any naturally occurring virus is actually an adaptation event towards the next opportunity for explosion of life on earth.

Speaker:  How can the coronavirus just become present?

THIS IS MY FAVORITE PART!
First, we need a little bit of background what is a virus?  First, a virus is not a living organism and so we have severely miscategorized viruses as physicians and scientists as part of the microbiome. This microscopic life is an extraordinary universe, 5 million species of just fungi it’s just like this extraordinary explosion of adaptation within the fungal Kingdom alone. The viruses are not alive and therefore should not be categorized as far as I’m concerned in the microbiome because they’re not living organisms they are a secretion of bacteria and are multi cellular organisms and so if they come from bacteria we call them bacteriophages but it’s just a virus. Coming out of a human system for example or another mammal we call them viruses but these are genetic secretions of living cells that don’t pass any life capacity within that package of information it’s literally a communication tool for the genome to proliferate to create adaptation and biodiversity and so it is the device it is the tool for life to quickly adapt and shift into a more intelligent life form and so a virus is a package of genetic information that’s targeted. This is the really fascinating thing, this isn’t like just like using genetic information, it’s wrapped up just like a smart bomb to deliver the information right to the right place where it’s most needed and in the case of coronavirus which has been around with us for documented for over 740 years, it’s a very common part of the human experience causing many of the common colds we experience.

When an organism in great stress has the need for an adaptation it can take something like a coronavirus and can misspell the genetic information within that and the misspelling will accelerate as the stress increases and so it does this by actually intentionally having slightly sloppy machinery or repeating the genetic information within the viral genome.  The virome has this extensive genomic collection of information starts to misspell many of those will be irrelevant just misspellings and will go on to do nothing.  Occasionally you’ll see an up regulation of function or an important structural adaptation represented in that genomic information and therefore when it is enters an organism like a human we take it into our genomics and we start to proliferate it out there to expand that information screen. As we saw with RONA, the vast majority of viruses stay asymptomatic with almost all individuals that get it and then a very small section of people will develop severe symptoms and diseases.

Many scientists think of viruses like Trojan horses that come in and take over the mechanisms of our human cells to proliferate. It’s nowhere near that reality, if that was true we would have never existed because there are 10000000000000000000000000000000 viruses in the air that we breathe (visual 10,000,000 times more viruses in the air than our stars in the entire universe) and so then we look into the soils and we find another 10 to the 31 viruses there and then we look into the ocean water and we find another 10 to 31 viruses there! We are so surrounded by this genetic information that if it actually behaved such that every time it touched us it would take over our machinery and just for its own good start to proliferate, we would never exist. We are the result of viruses we are not being attacked by viruses and when I say that that’s quite literal.

When you look at the recent genomic sequencing we’re now getting good at understanding which parts of our DNA were inserted directly by viruses and we are now have counted up to more than 50% of the human  genes resulting from direct viral updates, and at least 10% of our genes are direct viral updates from retroviruses like HIV. Over the last 100 years we have demonized the very mechanisms by which we have become real and that’s a terrifying mistake to make as when your paradigm is so reversed as a scientist that you were taught to fear an attack the very things that built you, you are now going to engineer your extinction!

We have done that through the advent of antimicrobials, antivirals, anti-fungals and the like.
He then said:   There’s many doctors listening right now who are saying well that’s that’s gotta be BS because I  see patients dying of pneumonia and if I give them an antibiotic they improve. This is where we again fail to see the big picture and we start to measure outcomes by two weeks instead of two years or 20 years in these individuals. We now know that a single course of antibiotics undermines human biology immediately as we destroy the fabric of the organic soil of our microbiome a single course of antibiotics is now been documented to increase your risk of major depression in the next 12 months by 17% your risk of major anxiety disorder by 24% if you get 2 courses of antibiotics in the next year over a 12 month period your risk of major depression event is now 44% your risk of a massive anxiety disorder is 52%. It’s this radical undermining of our brain and our neurologic function when we just take an antibiotic but more terrifyingly if you look at the United States you can look at the antibiotic prescription rate per state within the United States and show a perfect correlation to the risk of death from cancer in those states so the higher the rate of antibiotic prescription the more likely you die from cancer.

The soil within our gut is actually the mechanism by which we produce health and when we undermine the soil the plant life dies and in this case that happens to be us. 

If you look at your stool, that is the ultimate compost within you.  When you flush the toilette, you just ate a few hours ago, and now it looks like soil.  You are a composting machine for the microbial intelligence within you.  Just as you put compost into your garden to make it more abundant we forget about our own, and are just given medication and supplements to manage diseases that are manifesting from a lack of soil health.  And we destroy the soils of the earth which causes our soils to be lacking through chemicals and pesticides.

Okay guys, that was just the first 25 minutes!!!

I’m just going to post a little bit more here because this next points were also SO GOOD!

The power has definitely been taken away from the individual to pursue health!  PREACH!

Marbled halls and white coats and stethoscopes and all the fancy trappings of MRI machines and CT scans and billions of dollars of laboratories we give the impression we know what is going on and the reality is we have no clue because we have been going down this long wrong path and believing that the human system is this isolated system that has to fight off infections and most importantly it needs an immune system to kill all microorganisms around it so that it doesn’t die.  

We don’t need infections, that is the mentality that is out there both in the position of the scientists and the public still and yet we know as of 30 years ago so that humans can’t survive unless microorganisms within it are providing massive biodiversity. In the last 15 years it’s been mind blowing to realize that’s not isolated to our gut,  in fact we have bacteria/fungi/viruses teaming in every single organ of our body to produce health.

When we start to slip into disease, the microbiome goes into an adaptation stress response system to try to recover our health!  Alzheimer’s brains when you section those and you look, the most damaged part of the brain what has come to help is a yeast form of candida glabrata that has now shifted to a mycelial like fungal hyphae form that is built a network of mycelial like root system around the damaged portion of the brain to try to bring nutrients and fuel resource the damaged area brain.  We have feared yeast that we are terrified in hospital systems trying to eradicate all, then finding out that that’s actually was trying to help recover the brain of this Alzheimer’s patient as they start to decline.
We’ve now seen that in breast cancer the bacteria that shows up to try to recover the health of the breast cancer is mycobacterium radio tolerance and that species of bacteria is able to thrive in the acidic environment around the breast cancer and it’s able to try to bring again nutrients and fuel production and communication into that space. We now know that the more sterile you make that patient, the faster that woman will have metastatic cancer and so as you undermined not just the guts soils but the soils that are within us.

We keep seeing in the hospital for example, examples of here’s an infection if I don’t treat that infection this patient is going to die and so we forget then to back up and say the reason that patient has an infection is because we so damaged the soil system but there’s now a weed like growth of a couple of organisms and we’re going to go in and try to wipe out the weeds.  This response is going to make more and more aggressive weeds and more and more drug resistant weeds and that’s of course exactly what I see now when I’m working with farmers.   Their soil systems when I go out into a farm on a conventional landscape it’s not unusual for us to see is roundup resistant weeds that are taking over farms, they can be the size of Christmas trees these weeds with a trunk, they’ve been so forced into this extreme effort to recover the biology of this dying soil system as soon as you stop trying to kill them one year later that soil no longer has that weed present, the need for that weed went away because the soil began to recover its ecosystem. If in our damage control we need a moment of antibiotics we need to instead of saying now you’re better from your pneumonia we need to say we just made things worse and you’re going to come back next year or in a few months with something much worse and unfortunately that answer is we just wiped out your microbiome again and so right now as you leave the hospital we are going to put you on that three month journey into microbiome diversification so we would like you to change and modify your daily behavior so that the nature is starting to bring more and more microbial diversity into your life everyday. (WOW WOULDN’T THAT BE THE DAY!)

If that was the discharge instructions from the hospital we would stop the recidivism that we see in medicine, the same way we see it in prisons because we don’t fix the underlying cause of socio economic collapse, lack of education and all of this that would yield a better prison system. Hospital work is such a burnout career to be a hospitalist and so as an internal medicine doctor I’d spent so many years in hospitals in ICU’s and when you are admitting the same patient for the same condition for the fourth time in a single month you start to really give up hope, and as we see you know cancer now reaching 1 or two males in the united states will now be diagnosed with cancer that’s mind boggling like that’s a doubling of our cancer rate just in the last 30 years!

Alzheimer’s certainly Parkinson’s, and down into our children with attention deficit, hyperactivity, autism and the like our population is failing to build healthy brains and so the anti depressants, that anti anxieties, the sleep medicines, the sexual disorders all of this explosion of this function of the brain is because the organism is losing the soil system and so we need to radically change our viewpoint from oh we just fixed the pneumonia to we just did a whack amole situation.

If you look at the recent Netflix release on Bill Gates and feel good story about the Gates Foundation (SO CORRUPT) on what they’re trying to do to eradicate polio and these viral infections by these very intensive almost military efforts of vaccination. What you see is they stamp it out and one thing in there he’s showing that, hey we eradicated here but then it pops up of here, and we implement our system over here in this county and we eradicated, but it popped up back over here so they’re doing the whack a mole game not just in a single city but in the whole populations where they can’t suppress the infection because they’re not realizing that they’re playing on a 2 dimensional test board when in fact biology is 3 dimensional and the micro organisms are through the soil water and air systems.

The reason they’re there is because we have damaged the system. We didn’t eradicate polio, for example until we changed our water systems and we could chlorinate our pools and sinks. We would have kids still with polio today, if it wasn’t for changing the water, and yet have this story that the polio vaccine made polio go away. No, we changed 1000 things and medical management around the tonsils and adenoids and radiation for acne that was going on at the time and everything else we stopped doing then the children recovered and their immune systems strengthened and we changed their water environment. We’re seeing the inability for that same polio vaccine to eradicate it in India because we’re not fixing the underlying problem which is an abnormal unbalanced terrain of water and soil systems because there’s so much chemical toxicity there.  (NOT TO MENTION THE VACCINES MAKE PEOPLE MORE SICK!) Vaccines are all about $ not health.

Corona deaths are all from co-morbidities.  Cardiovascular, diabetes and kidney disease are the most common, which none of those have to do with physiology of a virus.  Why are those populations?  Why not asthma and emphysema? Why?  All three are usually categorized into two medications: statins and ACE inhibitors.  These meds change the terrain of our lungs, which makes the population prone to a disease event, which has ALL to do with the terrain.  The virus is expressing, if we change our terrain (which is what the drugs do), you have problems.
